GL-iNet products AR750/AR750S/AR300M/AR300M16/MT300N-V2/B1300/MT1300/SFT1200/X750 v4.3.11, MT3000/MT2500/AXT1800/AX1800/A1300/X300B v4.5.16, XE300 v4.3.16, E750 v4.3.12, AP1300/S1300 v4.3.13, and XE3000/X3000 v4.4 were discovered to contain a vulnerability can be exploited to manipulate routers by passing malicious shell commands through the s2s API.
An attacker can transmit malicious shell commands through the device's s2s API interface. The vulnerability is classified as command injection (CWE-77) and path traversal (CWE-22), meaning that user-supplied input is not properly validated or filtered before being passed to the system command interpreter. The attack does not require authentication or user interaction and can be performed remotely over the network.
An attacker can gain full control of the device, including reading sensitive configuration data, modifying router settings, and disrupting its availability. It is also possible to use the device as an entry point to the internal network.
Patches available from the manufacturer should be applied according to the references. It is recommended to monitor the official GL-iNet repository at the address indicated in the references and update the firmware to a version that eliminates the vulnerability as soon as possible. Until the update is applied, consider restricting network access to the s2s API interface at the firewall level.
