Bible Module is a tool designed for ROBLOX developers to integrate Bible functionality into their games. The `FetchVerse` and `FetchPassage` functions in the Bible Module are susceptible to injection attacks due to the absence of input validation. This vulnerability could allow an attacker to manipulate the API request URLs, potentially leading to unauthorized access or data tampering. This issue has been addressed in version 0.0.3. All users are advised to upgrade. There are no known workarounds for this vulnerability.
The `FetchVerse` and `FetchPassage` functions do not perform any input validation before using the data to construct API request URLs. An attacker can supply crafted input data that will be injected directly into the constructed URL, thereby modifying the target resource or request parameters. This makes it possible to redirect requests to unintended resources or manipulate the transmitted data.
An attacker can gain unauthorized access to data or manipulate it by controlling the URLs of API requests sent by the module. In extreme cases, it is possible to compromise the integrity and confidentiality of data processed by the application.
Bible Module should be updated to version 0.0.3, in which the issue has been fixed. The manufacturer does not indicate any alternative workarounds — updating is the only recommended action.
